Today, I’ve been listening to the original release of “Something Good” by Utah Saints (Jez Willis Tim Garbutt) – a personal favorite of mine from the early 1990s. Here’s what Wikipedia has to say about the track:
‘”Something Good” is a house music song released by Utah Saints in 1992. It was first included as the lead song on a seven-track EP titled Something Good, then later included on the Utah Saints album. “Something Good” is an aggressive house/trance track which very prominently contains a vocal sample from Kate Bush’s “Cloudbusting” (originally appearing on her 1985 album Hounds of Love).’1
Here’s a YouTube upload of the original music video and mix (there have been several prominent remixes over the years, but I still like the original mix the best):
To find out more, please visit the Wikipedia page on Utah Saints. Note that the official Utah Saints homepage www.utahsaints.com currently points to the duo’s MySpace page. You can see the video of Kate Bush’s “Cloudbusting” on YouTube – it’s interesting to hear the original vocal sample in context. Also worth noting is that you can now purchase the original track on iTunes.
