“Mai Mai” by Jaia (Jaïa) from their album Blue Energy (1998; Cross Records) is another one of my favorite goa trance tracks. It’s hard to get your hands on — as far as I’m aware there’s no place where one can purchase a legal high-quality down-loadable copy of the track. Blue Energy was re-released in 2000 by (Dakini/Yellow Feather) as a 2-disk release with bonus tracks under the title Blue Energy/Blue Synergy — but it has been sold out for some time. If you know of a place where one can purchase a *high-quality* legal down-loadable copy of this track, please share in the comments section of this post. In the meantime, I’m sure you’ll enjoy the following YouTube upload of the track. Note that the track really starts to get good with the ‘burping and tweeting’ synth-line that is first introduced around 5:30 into the track. “Mai Mai” is a nice example of more ‘uplifting’ goa psy trance. Enjoy!
More on Jaia from the Wikipedia stub:
“Jaia (Jaïa) is an electronic music project from France. It was founded in 1995 by Yannis Kamarinos and Jean-michel Blanchet, but since 2000 Yannis is working alone under the Jaia name.1
